Waltz of the Wizard is coming to Playstation VR 2 with an exclusive feature: asymmetrical couch co-op.
Waltz of the Wizard is a VR classic that has been pushing the technical boundaries of virtual reality since 2016. Playing as a wizard in a tower, you experiment with magical essences and spells to unleash superpowers and reality-bending magic.
Originally a PC VR experience, Waltz of the Wizard later appeared on other platforms, such as Meta Quest and Playstation VR. Over the years, it has received new features and content updates such as Natural Magic, which turned the VR experience into a proper VR game with combat spells and an expansive dungeon to explore. On Meta Quest, it also supports hand tracking.
Waltz of the Wizard: Coming soon to PSVR 2
Now, Aldin Dynamics has announced Waltz of the Wizard for Playstation VR 2. Features of this version include:
– Cutting-edge voice, eyes- and gesture interaction abilities
– Large campaign with storyline, combat and challenges
– Hundreds of voice interactions (English)
– Infinite level generation mode for endless fun
– Eye-tracking interactions with characters and magic
– Dozens of unique haptic effects (rumble, trigger, head)
– Team up with a friend in asymmetric co-op!
In local co-op, one player plays with a headset while the other plays on the TV using the DualSense controller. The second person is a spirit who can actively assist the wizard in dungeon battles.
Playstation VR 2 could be an ideal platform for asymmetrical couch co-op: the TV can output a different image than the headset, and a second person without a headset could join in using the gamepad. Unfortunately, there are very few PSVR 2 games that take advantage of these capabilities. In fact, I cannot think of a single title.
Waltz of the Wizard will be released on October 3, 2023 for Playstation VR 2 at a price of $19.99. You can add the VR game to your wishlist on the Playstation Store.
